Hi,

If that particular addon is causing the freezing issues you will need to contact its developers for a resolution or find an update for it. doPDF acts just like a normal printer when converting, it doesn't integrate with Firefox to cause any compatibility issues with other addon modules that may be installed.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hi Soft, I just figured out it was an Internet Download Manager Integration Module Add-on which creating this freezing issue. If some user having this issue ask them to restart the FF with disable all Add-on and enable one by one, So it will tell them which particular Add-on is clashing with DoPDF. If this possible your developer check on this and provide the solution or I have to ask to IDM.

Can you please send us that exact link you tried to print and you got the system hang for so we can test that from our end. We tried different pages from different sources to test in Firefox but no errors or timeouts so far.

Thank you.

Hello,

We tested the Firefox 9.0.1 version with multiple doPDF builds and there were no issues printing web pages from it. Perhaps there is a certain page or pages you want to print and you are receiving the errors. If you can let us know such as page so we can also test it from here it would be great.

Thank you.

My System freezes whenever I print a document with Firefox 9.0.1.
My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate x64 and doPDF works fine with all other applications. Even Task Manager hangs and the only viable option is to log off from after pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
My doPDF is latest and the problem was with last version too. I use Firefox rarely so I didn't pay much attention to it earlier but sometimes I lose important work as logging off closes all apps.
Thank You

Try to update the doPDF application to the latest build no 7.2.367. and give it another go.

We have tried the same way you have but still not hangs or errors. The secure pages are all printed successfully.

Guys, this problem occurs with me when the time to inform the name for the file to be saved. But only when I use ctrl-v in the field to the filename. For example, I copied the file name to any text by ctrl-c and ctrl-v used to fill the field of the file name.

Hello,

We have tried some secure links for printing the pages but all of them worked.

What can we suggest at this time is for you to completely uninstall the doPDF version you have using the following tutorial:

http://www.dopdf.com/forum/topic/completely-uninstalling-dopdf

And after that, download the latest doPDF version from our website and try again with your page. If that still does not work the it is possible that particular page or pages to have the issue while printing.

Thank you.

Considering you are not able to reproduce the problem, I did further attempts and it seems that the issue I reported is especially present when I print a web page from a site I accessed through secure connections (https).
So, I cannot suggest you a specific link because I should provide you userid/password: I think you can try printing from a secured site you know.
Besides, I experimented the same problem even with MS Internet Explorer 9: the only difference is that IE9 doesn't hang (probably because IE9 opens a different process for every web page, while there is only one process for Firefox) but the page is not printed.
Thanks for your collaboration

I'm using Windows 7 SP1 64-bit, Firefox 4.0.1 and DoPdf 7.2.363.
I have this strange behaviour: the first time I print a web page from Firefox, the browser hangs, so I'm obliged to shut it down through Task Manager.
When I start again Firefox and I print the same web page, all is OK.
Could someone help me avoid this nasty situation ?
Thanks in advance

Thanks Softland for your reply

I now keep the Open PDF in reader checkbox ticked then follow the rest of the doPDF printing steps This action seems to have stopped the error messages and I've got PDF's via FF once again

Hello,

Unfortunately the errors you have mentioned in the reply are related exclusively with Firefox and the way it handles the pages you want to print. DoPDF simply converts whatever it receives from the browser if it is possible to convert, does not manage the files/links in any other ways.

Hi, indeed when printing it from IE7 the error shows upon opening it with Adobe. We'll look into this and if it's a problem with doPDF we'll corrected.

As a workaround, I was able to print this page just fine using FireFox, Maxthon and Google Chrome, so you might want to try one of these browsers.

Hi, the Print Preview window of FireFox has nothing to do with the printer driver, it's the way that page was coded that prevents it from being printer correctly - if Print Preview shows the background image missing, no matter what printer you'll use that image won't show in the resulting file/paper.

I suggest that you try opening that page with a different browser (IE, Opera) and see how they handle the printing, maybe it's not an error in how the page is coded but in the way the browser handles it (IE has a print background image option that you need to check too).

Anyway, the last option (if it doesn't work from other browsers) would be to make a screenshot of the page and print it to PDF after that.

Most likely is because of a setting you have in FireFox. Do this, in FireFox go to File->Page Setup and make sure the option Print Background (color and images) is checked. After that try printing it to doPDF again, as the background image should appear in the PDF now, and let us know if this was it.
