I have a pdf file that contains 217 two page documents for a total of 434 pages. I want to extract the pages and collate them so that page 1 & 2 are document 1, pages 3 & 4 are document 2 etc... up to document 217. When I extract I get 434 individual pages that I have to collate manually. Working with Adobe Standard 8.3.1.

Hi all,

My Client requirement is to do a PDF search (non-english) in the Search module of his e-learning website. When i try to extract the contents of PDF for indexing, some of the characters are neglected during extraction (empty spaces in that area,when i view the indexed contents in Luke). I am getting these problem for languages like Tamil/Hindi.

The Client is very adamant that he wants PDF search.

What is the solution for this...Please give me a ray of light or guidelines.

Thanks and Regards,
Every now and then we receive a question about why we don't develop a PDF reader. The main reason for not creating one is the fact that there are already many freeware PDF viewers out there, so if you are looking for a free PDF reader you can choose one from the list below (all of them are free, if there are any errors with the list below do leave a reply):

Features of doPDF:

"Open with PDF reader - You can choose to have the PDF opened with the default PDF reader once it's converted."

This feature works great on my XP machine but does not work on my new W7Pro64 machine.
The PDF is generated and goes to the selected folder, it just does not start Adobe Rdr. I tried several versions of Adobe Rdr with no luck.

Any Ideals?

I am attempting to compile my DOC files that contain 5x6 inch jpgs that have a 1pixel stroke around the perimeter, but for some reason when the PDF is created, the bottom line is removed and not visible anymore... Has anyone heard of this problem before or know how to solve this? Thanks!

Hello everyone,

I am very new to this forum and would like to post this question and hope to get some help. We are using the following code pass in a product.doc to generate a product.pdf
PDDocument product = new PDDocument();
PDFMergerUtility merger = new PDFMergerUtility();
createPDF.appendPDF(merger,product,"_Product.doc");
product.save(os);
createPDF.close();
product.close();
Our product.doc has both header and fooder, when inserting endnotes, it shows up at the last page on the product.doc. When generating pdf, we are losing the header and footer on the last page of the pdf.

Any ideas? Any helpful information would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

I have been unsuccessful installing novaPDF version: 7.4.365
on a windows XP machine.

I am using install shield to run the NovaPDF install. this works fine on Windows 7 and Vista machines.

I have tried to install when no previous NovaPDF driver has been installed.
I have copied the file framedyn.dll to the c:\windows\system32\ folder.

I've used hyperlinks in my newsletter in the past and they have worked well.
Now that comments and notes have been added to the pdf version I am using, the links no longer work in the pdf version

Thanks
Keith

Hi,

I am currently working on a new management report that contains multiple excel-files and therefore multiple pdf-files. I know how to add a link in the excel-file and maintain the link when i convert it into to a pdf, but my problem is to maintain the links when i compile all the pdf-files into one (e.g. the first pdf-file contains the content of the report while the next files contains the main chapters).

The report is quite static so do any of you know how to come about this problem. Maybe by applying some kind of template you can put down on the compiled pdf file and makes corrections in.

Many thanks in advance for your input!

Hi,

I have a question I am trying to get an answer for;
I have a large collection of recipes books, all as .pdf files. Each recipe is bookmarked. Is there a program that will enable me to search accross multiple files and list bookmarks by my search phrase. Ultimately I would like to build a database, but a simple search facility will do. Can anyone help?

TIA Gifton

If I use Adobe Reader 10 to look at a review PDF, I can see a screen asking me to CONNECT. And when the PDF is open, I can see all the comments with the "Check for new comments" button at the top left side of the PDF file.

Now they installed Acrobat Pro Extended for me the other day. When I open the same review PDF in Pro Extended, I do not see the CONNECT screen, and I do not see any comments. What's wrong with Pro Extended? Why is it not working? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
