Most likely the pdf wasn't generated correctly and its size is 0Kb. Try reinstalling the latest version of doPDF and see if it happens again. Also, does it occur from any application or only from a specific program? For instance try printing from Notepad or Word too and see if it creates it.

When using the DO PDF printer, the Save PDF File dialog box comes up behind open windows. If the open windows are maximized, I can't even tell it is there. Can it be set to come up on top of all other open windows? It would save a couple clicks getting to it. I love this program, I never print out receipts any more, I print them in pdf. Thanks so much for making this available, especially for free!

To a word doc you need a special pdf to doc converter. However, to a .txt file it's easier and can be done with the free Adobe Reader.

Just open your pdf in Adobe Reader (8+), choose File > Save As Text and in the Save As Text dialog box, enter the filename and location before clicking Save.

No, dopdf cannot edit pdf files. In your case I'm thinking that you could use the Commenting feature in Adobe Reader, so that if there are corrections to be added to the PDF it will be added as a comment and when you receive it back if you consider it's ok you'll have to add the correction in the original document.

My Genealogy hobby has recently become active again and it would be very nice if I could use a pdf file for a turnaround document.

That is I send a form to somone and if they can edit it and send the updated file back to me I would use the info to update the family database.

The primary reasons are: 1. sending and receiving pdf type files sre smaller hence faster transmit & receive times.
2. The edited doc allows the sender and the receiver to look at the same information for follow up questions or for adding additional research uncovered later.

Is there any function in dopdf or plans for any to accomplish that?

If I use version 6.2.288 is ok, with 6.2.300 or 6.2.301 I have the problem.

I had the same problem with the last release,
changing the resolution, in the property page, for example from 300 to 72 dpi and then OK, when I come back to the property page I find the resolution to 300 again, not 72.
So I removed this version and reinstalled the release 6.2.288 that works fine.

Hi, dopdf cannot convert PDF to JPEG. However, there's a way you can take screenshots from the PDF by using Adobe Reader:
- Open the PDF, go to Tools > Select & Zoom and click on Snapshot tool
- Click anywhere in the page to capture the entire content displayed on the screen or click and drag a rectangle around the section you want converted to an image
- The selected section is copied in your clipboard when you release the mouse
- Open MS Paint (or another image editor) and choose Edit > Paste to paste the copied selection directly into the target document.

That should be it to convert PDF to JPG. Of course for larger PDF documents it's not that easy to do this.

Well the easiest way would be if you'd still have the original document (from which the pdf was created), as you'd remove the watermark and then re-generate the pdf.

However, if you only have the watermarked pdf it's going to be very difficult to remove it - one of the solutions would be to take a screenshot of the watermarked page and then edit the image with an image editor.
