Hello,

I got a problem when printing a word document (Office 2003, Windows XP SP3), where the main page orientation is portrait, but with some pages in Landscape orientation. The created pdf file has always all pages in portrait format, by distorting and sqeezing the landscape pages into portrait format.

I verified the printing with CutePDF (which i don't like becaus of reqiring Ghostscript) and NitroPDF (which is not free, so no option for poor student), and both are producing outputs with the correct page orientation changes (using the same document, on the same computer).

This happens with version 6.30 build 310 and build 311 (for older versions i don't know, won't go back)

Other then that i really like DoPDF, is is my prefered PDF writer. I honestly appreciate your efforts with this product.

Thanks,

I made a booklet of 12 pages with OpenOffice and dopdf. For printig preperation I made a pdf with dopdf build 308 and printed it in "Broschuere" mode, which means that two pages which are printed together are mounted at the same print page. For example page 1 and the last page or page 2 and the page before the last and so on.
I had a lot of pictures in the text document. One of them I cutted in the text editor of OpenOffice because it was too large. Dopdf made a pdf-File where the picture have been cutted much more than I did it in OpenOffice. The size is as I want. The picture is zoomed. This effect does only occur in the "Broschuere" mode. In the normal mode (pages in "normal" order) the pdf is correct. An other pdf creator (PDFCreator) is doing this job correct. (It makes other trouble.)
As a work around I cutted the picture with an external program before I mounted it into the text document and all is working well.
I think there might be a bug between OpenOffice and dopdf. On all other aspects dopdf is a fine program and working very well. With the new build 311 the result is the same.

When the pub is converted to the pdf, what size does the pdf have on your disk? If it's 0Kb something went wrong during conversion and only a reinstall might fix it. Can you tell what operating system you have installed, what Publisher version and what dopdf version? We'll try to see if it's a bug or a particular error. Thanks.

That's right, on Vista it doesn't suggest the folder where the document was opened from. We'll look into that, but you can use the Always use this folder option to force printing to a specific folder.

In XP, the first suggested folder to write the PDF through Dopdf is the same folder that the original document came from. This is as advertised and works well for my application. I recently converted to Vista x64 and the behavior is different: The first suggested folder is c:\users\(user name)... I do NOT have the "always use this folder" box checked. If I select a folder and write the pdf, any subsequent PDF writes for the current session goes to the folder I selected. However, If I close the document then reopen it and write a PDF, the suggested folder returns to c:\users\(user name).

Did I miss a setup issue or does Vista x64 behave differently than XP.
I personally really appreciated the suggested folder being the one the document came from.

My Dopdf version is 6.3 build 308

Ok let's split this into steps:
- make sure you have the latest version installed (if not visit the download page and install it) and restart your computer if you had to install the new version
- after that open your CV in word (I assume that's what you use) and make sure in Page Setup the type of paper is Letter
- now click on print and select dopdf as the printer, but before the actual printing click on the properties button to open the main configuration window
- select the Predefined option and right under A4 in there it should be Letter which you have to select and press ok

See how the resulting format is.

I started to use DoPdf and it is a very good tool.
I have noticed, while converting an Excel file, the hyperlinks such as: (http://archivesenligne.yonne-archives.org/archives/visu/15051/1/daogrp/?INBAAFFICHER=50) are truncated/changed and some text is added in the middle/at the end (http://archive(NUMBER)s(Another_Number)enligne.yonne-archives.NAME_ADDED) when converted to a PDF file.

I've been using doPDF and always loved it but I have a problem..

Even if the paper format is set to Letter (8.5 x 11) in the printer settings (by default), the properties of the doPDF printer shows A4 as the available paper format. So each time I want to print my 2 pages (CV - very tight) it changes the document to A4 (8 x 11) which adds a 3rd page with 2 lines to adjust the shrinking of 0.5 inch. I tried on 2 different computers and I got the same result.

I ended up using PDF reDirect instead but I do want to return using doPDF because I'm used to it.

Thank you in advance.

I tried the following browsers
IE8
Chrome
Firefox
SeaMonkey

IE came the closest to being correct, but the picture was missing.

The other browsers caused an Acrobat error when attempting to load the PDF after creation.

PDF995 works okay.

What do you mean proper pdf, is the pdf created but some elements are not correctly converted? I opened a flash obituary, I right-clicked it and selected Print and after that I selected dopdf and generated the pdf file - at the first look it was correctly generated.
