doPDF 6.3 build 307 was released. It contains some new/updated features and bug fixes, so update is recommended. One important new feature is the ability to choose if the PDF will be opened once it's created or not.
What's changed in doPDF 6.3.307:

New: doPDF now allows you to choose if the PDF reader will open after the PDF is created

New: Uses local time instead of system time for PDF creation date and time

New: Added Danish language for the interface

New: Creates folders (multiple levels) when saving pdf file, if folders do not exist

Fix: Corrected bug numeric values when no decimals allowed in regional settings - numbers

Fix: Corrected mirrored images in printer driver

Fix: Corrected bug to keep the resolution set in preferences

You can download the new version here: doPDF 6.3.307

We've partnered with Uniblue (makers of RegistryBooster, SpeedUpMyPc, DriverScanner and DiskRescue) to offer a discount on their products for dopdf.com/forum users. The discount is $10 off the regular price, cutting the price down to around $20 for each product. So if you intended to purchase any of their products but wanted a better price, now's your chance.

Here are the links for the discounts (you won't be charged by clicking the link, it will simply open their order page where you can see the discount and decide what to do):

RegistryBooster discount

SpeedUpMyPC discount

DriverScanner discount

DiskRescue discount

We tested these discounts and they are valid, however if you encounter any problems add a reply and I'll pass it on.

doPDF was recently reviewed on TecChannel, a popular German IT portal. The article is published in German and cn be viewed here: doPDF - Kostenloser PDF-Konverter.

The reviewer draws a conclusion about doPDF (more or less, my German is rusty): "An extremely simple PDF converter, but this is what makes doPDF charming".

Softonic is Spain's most visited software download portal and after reviewing doPDF they've named it "outstanding". An excerpt from the review:

An excellent PDF converter that's fast, easy to use and serves as more than an adequate replacement for Adobe's software.

We've tested doPDF 6.2.296 with the newly released Windows 7 release candidate and we can confirm that it's fully compatible with it.

This is good news since it means that doPDF will most likely be 100% compatible with the final release of Windows 7, thus the early OS adopters will be able to use their favorite PDF creator (yes, doPDF) on Windows 7 too.

If you don't have the latest version of doPDF installed (that we tested on Windows 7 and it works), you can download it here: doPDF 6.2

Fix: corrected the cross reference table when generating the PDF. In some situations, the pdf opened in a pdf reader other than Adobe Reader would return errors. This fix should correct the problem.

The total number of direct download requests for doPDF is now at 6,567,275 and if we add only the downloads from download.com, 1,124,919, that sums up more than 7.6 million downloads for doPDF since its launch.

Of course, we cannot count all the downloads made through other channels (such as those hosted on external websites) but we're pretty sure that in total there are over 8 million downloads (as an example, only those from Majorgeeks and Softpedia count up to almost 100,000 downloads).

And if downloads continue to increase in the same rhythm, we'll surpass the 10 million downloads mark in the next couple of months. We'd like to take this opportunity to thank you, the doPDF user, for making doPDF popular. We'll continue to make it better and each day we'll do "the same thing we do every day, — try to take over the world!" (it's not as easy as it sounds though, we're competing with two laboratory mice)

Chris Hsu translated the dopdf.com website in Chinese Traditional. If you are a Chinese speaker you can check out the newly translated version here: dopdf.com/tw/. 謝謝 Chris! (hopefully this really means Thank you in Chinese).

If you want to help us translate the website (or the interface) in a language that's not yet translated in, you can start by visiting this page: Languages. You'll see here in which languages doPDF is not translated, and if you want to help you'll simply have to email us and we'll reply with details. Practically the website has about around 1200 words that need to be translated.

doPDF 6.2 build 287 is now available for download. Update is recommended, as this version includes a new feature (font embedding).

What's changed in doPDF 6.2.287:

Update: Added option to embed fonts in the resulting PDF file (shown in the Save PDF dialog window).

NOTE: By checking the Embed fonts option, the resulting PDF file will be considerably larger because it will include in the PDF the fonts used for the creation of the text. However, font embedding also ensures that the text in the PDF will look the same on other computers where it is opened, even if the fonts used are not present on that computer.

Update: Added informational page in the start menu group (describes how to create PDF files)

Minor fixes

You can download the new version here: doPDF 6.2.287

Softland on "[Mention] doPDF on PC World"

We need your help to reach the editors at PC World. doPDF is listed in their Downloads section here: doPDF on PC World

Right now it hasn't been reviewed, but here's how you can help us in getting it reviewed:

If you don't have a PC World account, simply click on the thumbs-up image that shows near the "Recommend this download?" text

If you have a PC World account (you can create one for free), click on the User Reviews tab and submit your review (you can add a star rating and what you like/dislike about doPDF)

If doPDF receives lots of votes/reviews, eventually an editor will notice it and discover what a great little program it is :) (difficult to be objective here).

We did some minor tweaks to the forum:

Related links now show (up to 5 of them) at the top of each post, as long as there are some related links. Tags you add for each post have the most importance in showing up as related links, so be sure to add tags for new posts to help others find similar posts.

On the profile page you can now put links to the profiles from other social media websites (right now only Twitter, Digg, Delicious, Technorati show up, more to come later). As an example, you can visit my profile http://www.dopdf.com/forum/profile/softland and you'll see at the top the Social bookmark links. If you want to follow our updates on Twitter for example, you just click on the Twitter link (http://twitter.com/softlandro) and Follow us.

Olli translated the doPDF.com website in Finnish. Kiitos Olli! (that's thank you in Finnish, if you are from Finland and would like to send a thank you to Olli, you can do so by emailing ollinpostit@gmail.com).

Thanks to all the translators that helped us, the number of languages the dopdf.com website is available in went up to 17. Think that's a lot?

New: doPDF now has an "Always use this folder" option. When checked, doPDF will save the PDF to the specified location each time a PDF is created.

Update: When PDF creation fails, doPDF now returns an "Error creating PDF file: " message

Fix: Corrected a crash with Microsoft Outlook 2007 printing under Vista (does not create ActivateContext anymore, uses existing)

doPDF 6.1 build 276 was released. This new build contains a couple of bug fixes for Vista mainly, so update is recommended for users of MS Vista.

What's changed in doPDF 6.1.276:

Fix: Corrected bug in converting Norwegian text containing numbers (for Norwegian numbers the thousand divider is a blank space, so the numbers were not correctly converted - bug in dlgPaper).

Fix: On Vista machines that have UAC enabled, printing from IE7 (in protected mode) returned a "Permission denied" error when trying to save the PDF file locally. Upon installation doPDF now sets permission to write to local files.

Update: Do not check open file when using doPDF on Vista and printing from IE

You can download the new version here: doPDF 6.1.276

Karl L. Gechlik, who runs his own consulting company, manages AskTheAdmin.com and works a full 9 to 5 job on Wall street as a System Administrator, recently submbled upon doPDF and shared his opinion about it:

I quickly Googled around looking for a free, easy solution. Lots of places claimed to do what I wanted but the first one that did it EASY and FREE was doPDF. [...] This is simply awesome.
