Thanks for the reply Softland.

I have just realised that doPDFv7 only sets itself up as default through one (internet) software package. When I print through it, doPDF sets itsef up as the default printer.

Must be the way it is called from that package.

Thanks.

@k0sh - doPDF sets itself as the default printer in 2 cases:
- if you are using the dopdf.exe program from Start->Programs->doPDF 7->doPDF. In order for us to be able to convert to PDF via that dopdf.exe window, it must be set as the default printer. If you don't want it set as default, use the other method for creating PDF files (i.e. open the document, go to File->Print and select doPDF as the printer manually before printing to it)
- if there's no other printer installed

I believe it's the first option in your case.

I have many other functional printers installed and it still keeps setting itself up as the default printer, which as the OP states, is very annoying.

I am running doPDFv7. I have looked under properties and any available settings to no avail.

Help please!
EDIT: I am running Win7

We've released a new build, doPDF 7.3 build 391. This just includes some small corrections when converting images, in certain situations the color of an image in a resulting PDF was different from the original, as well as another correction for radio button conversions.

You can download the update from http://www.dopdf.com/quick-download.php

That's a problem with the particular document you're printing, maybe it encounters an error and the printing stops. Try creating another large document like that by entering just generated text and print it. If it works just fine, copy the content from the other document in the new one and print it.

DoPDF is installed on WinXP as well and is working fine. Thank you! In the startup on WinXP I noticed the file dopdfmn7.dll but I don't see it on Win7. Could this perhaps be the problem? If so, how can I add it to the startup? Every time after reboot I reinstall the program but this file is not in there although I do see it in the Windows\System32 folder.

As per your suggestion to someone I completely uninstalled all dopdf files from the c drive as well as from the registry. I rebooted and then reinstalled the program but nothing doing after booting it's "offline" grayed out and the printing port is missing.

Hi,
So if you re-install doPDF it works fine until you restart the computer and from then on it just shows offline? The print spooler service is the one that takes the printer offline. For network shared printers (be those virtual or physical) this occurs if you have dynamic IPs and one is assigned to the printer, but in this case doPDF doesn't interact at all with the network.

My suggestion is to uninstall doPDF again, restart the print spooler service (without restarting your computer), then restart the computer and install doPDF as administrator.

I checked the printer and noticed it's "offline". Tried to change it but it remained grayed out and wouldn't change. I then tried changing it by running as administrator but get the message "The arguments are invalid". My only option is to reinstall it and then it works fine. Every time after reboot I notice it changed to "offline". What could be the probably suddenly?

Hi All,

I've got an issue as well with Windows 8 Home x64 and Office 15 (2013). I downloaded the latest doPDF version (7.3.388). In the Windows explorer, it appears to be the 7.2.355.
Testing :
Word, Outlook, Notepad : KO (printing popup in no responding mode)
Chrome : OK

I changed the compatibility mode to "Windows 7". All works fine now.

Hope that can help.

Hello everyone,

I am currently on Windows 7 64 bit. I am using Word 2010 and i'm trying to convert a Word file to pdf and save it to a network location. I have modify access to the share and I am receiving a Access Denied. When I give myself full access to the share, I can print to the location without issues. Is it possible to print to a share with only Modify access?

Thanks

Ryan

Okay,

Here's my humble offering - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWdyIwyQHGs

I'm hoping it's acceptable for purpose of obtaining the FREE license giveaway for novaPDF Professional.

This was an idea for using doPDF in webpage design in testing the printability of the page.

Thanks for your consideration.

Incidentally, I really do appreciate your product & will use it often.

I did a second remove and re-install, this time running the DoPDF-7.exe installation program as admin, rather than waiting for the permission request and it's now working again. Curious.

Nope, this problem has nothing to do with printing web pages. Printing from Word, Notepad, etc all result in no file created.
